Call for watchers to participate in the 150th session of the Executive Board of World Health Organisation (January 2022 (Virtual)) PHM is preparing to watch the 150th session of the Executive Board of World Health Organisation. The session will take place from 24 to 29 January, 2022. The World Health Assembly takes place once every year and the Executive Board meeting usually takes place twice a year.

Many issues which need to be addressed to properly strengthen international health emergency preparedness and response are born out of our unjust neoliberal international society. The dominant perspective on global health security has meant a focus on the Global North ‘protecting’ itself from the Global South which is viewed as the ‘problem area’.

The People's Health Movement will be sending a four-person delegation to the 12^th Ministerial Conference (MC12) of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) taking place in Geneva, Switzerland from 30 November to 3 December, 2021. This year the WTO is meeting in the context of an unprecedented health emergency – the COVID-19 pandemic.

In early June, the leaders of the world’s seven richest countries met in the UK to discuss global health, climate, and tax issues. Although the world is still in the midst of a pandemic, their actions leave little hope — or room — for changes for the better.
