Webinar on Public Pharma: A path to Health Sovereignty and Global Solidarity
The People’s Health Movement (PHM) invites you to a critical discussion on its newly published Policy Brief on Public Pharma —a transformative proposal to reclaim pharmaceutical systems for the public good. This session will explore PHM’s bold vision for a state-led, people-centered model of researching, developing, manufacturing, and distributing health technologies, as an essential step towards dismantling Big Pharma’s dominance.
Rooted in the principles of the Alma-Ata Declaration, the policy brief presents Public Pharma as a strategic tool to advance health sovereignty, international solidarity, and equitable access to health technologies. Participants will engage in a collective examination of the policy brief’s key findings, discussing practical pathways for realizing Public Pharma worldwide.
The discussion will also critically assess the failures of the neoliberal agenda and its public-private partnerships, while highlighting viable alternatives that prioritize human rights, ecological sustainability, and democratic governance.
This webinar is a call to action for health justice advocates worldwide. Don’t miss this urgent and necessary debate on the future of global health!
