Webinar on Public Pharma: A path to Health Sovereignty and Global Solidarity
The People's Health Movement (PHM) is proposing a critical debate on its recently published report on public pharmaceuticals, a transformative proposal to reclaim pharmaceutical systems for the public good. This session will explore the PHM's bold vision of a state-led, people-centered model of health technology research, development, manufacturing, and distribution as an essential step in dismantling the dominance of big pharma.
Based on the principles of the Alma-Ata Declaration, the policy report presents Public Pharmacy as a strategic tool for promoting health sovereignty, international solidarity, and equitable access to health technologies. Participants will engage in a collective examination of the policy report's main findings, discussing practical ways to make Public Pharmacy a reality worldwide.
The discussion will also critically assess the failures of the neoliberal agenda and its public-private partnerships, while highlighting viable alternatives that prioritize human rights, ecological sustainability, and democratic governance.
This webinar is a call to action for health justice advocates around the world. Don't miss this urgent and necessary discussion on the future of global health!
