Nyeleni Forum 2025

In this episode, we talk with Marcos Filardi, a lawyer and advocate for the right to health and food sovereignty, about how health is directly connected to what we eat, who controls the land, and why the fight for gender justice is key to securing free territories and bodies.

"We know that Food Sovereignty, health, economic and climate justice are all interconnected struggles". “We are the same air we breathe, we are the same water we drink, we are the food we eat. And therefore, it's absolutely necessary, and urgent that we build a new relationship with the nature to which we belong. If we do not do this urgently, we go into a suicidal path… There's another way forward, another way to inhabit the territories in which we live in harmony with the nature we are, in harmony with other human beings.”
