The political tragedy during the Covid-19 pandemic and the health movement resistance in Brazil

During the Covid-19 pandemic, deep and extensive social impacts were felt throughout the globe, way beyond the public health crisis. The responses of governments and the international community made evident the structural inequality and injustices of the current economic and political order, with dramatic effects in the Global South.

World Health Day provides us an opportunity to look at health in its widest form and highlight the most pressing issues of our times. PHM Europe put together a social media campaign to bring everyone’s focus on what ails people’s health in Europe.
María Cristina Cobo Mahecha, a tireless fighter, a resilient woman, a nurse dedicated and committed to her work and to serving the community. Armed groups forcibly disappeared her in the midst of Colombia's internal conflict. Her mother demands justice and the truth of what happened.
With this gallery PHM hopes to raise awareness of the attacks, harassment and repression suffered by health workers around the world; to strengthen campaigns of PHM country circles seeking justice, share activities and calls to action.
