The People's Health Movement War and Conflict Thematic Circle, in cooperation with the People's Health Movement - Philippines launched "A Struggle for Social Justice and Accountability: A Webinar on the Case of Crimes against Humanity in the Philippines".
Our main guest speaker is Atty. Kristina Conti, the Assistant to Counsel at the International Criminal Court, talks about the implications of the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte by the Interpol, the warrant issued by the ICC and what it entails to jail a president charged with crimes against humanity. Discussions include Duterte's War on Drugs which killed thousands of Filipinos, many of them young people, extra judicial killings including activists' killings and the culture of impunity that prevailed during Duterte's regime.
