PHM at 77th World Health Assembly, May 2024
This May 2024 PHM gathers in Geneva to attend the WHO Watch, a PHM programme which closely follows the two annual meetings at the World Health Organization - the Executive Board meeting which takes place in January-February, and the World Health Assembly held in May. The WHO watch is part of a process towards democratising global health governance.
A team of 10 young health activists from countries including Sri Lanka, Brasil, India, Philippines, Belgium, Brasil, Switzerland, Argentina, Netherlands and UK/Canada will analyse and discuss the different agenda items from a critical health and political economy perspective, supported by several resource people from PHM and allied organisations who bring their expertise on specific issues to this forum. The WHO Tracker of PHM contains details our comments on many issues of importance.
During the WHA77, the team will make interventions on the floor based on the analysis and discussion of this week’s workshop and input from health activists across the world. We aim to bring out statements and short summaries on a daily basis, called the daily briefs, to keep the movement updated about the developments at WHA. Follow this space for more.
