Webinar: Fast and Slow Genocide: Gaza and the West Bank
You are invited to participate in this webinar to discuss the situation of medical assistance in Gaza and the West Bank, the accelerated and slow genocide suffered by the defenseless civilian population who have no access to food and water amid fighting and attacks, and who also lack basic health care. In the nearly two years since the October 7, the world’s attention has focused on the widespread devastation in Gaza: the bombings, the displacements, the blockade of humanitarian supplies and now the famine. Israel’s intense and relentless aggression on the people of Gaza and the pillars of their society is widely recognized as an act of genocide. Indeed, in recent days and weeks a chorus of voices from within Israel has condemned Israel’s actions as genocide.
At the same time, another genocide, this one slower and less noticed, has begun in the West Bank. Increasing attacks by warplanes and tanks, wholesale destruction of schools, water, roads, and healthcare along with forced displacement of tens of thousands of Palestinians and brazen settler attacks and expulsions has become the new norm in the West Bank. These two genocides, occurring side by side, can only be seen as the steps towards Israel’s final goal of expelling the entire indigenous population in order to possess all of historic Palestine.
In this webinar, our guests will discuss the rapid and the slow (but accelerating) genocide and how they are in fact one and the same.
