PHM Nepal successfully concludes National People's Health University

PHM Nepal successfully concluded its National People's Health University (NPHU) course from 13-17 November ‘25. The NPHU is a national adaptation of PHM’s capacity-building program, International People’s Health University (IPHU). 

Opening the celebration of 25 years of PHM Dr. Sharad Onta recalled the preparation phase of PHM and the launch of the first People's Health Assembly (PHA1_ in December 2000 in Savar Bangladesh, Dhaka. He highlighted the mission, structure, activities, and working of thematic circles of PHM. Mr. Shanta Lall Mulmi, Dr. Binjwala Shrestha, Dr. Rajesh Pandav, Dr. Mahesh Maskey, and Dr. Sarita Shreshtha reflected their experiences of involvement in activities of PHM. 

The program held a national launch of Global Health Watch 7 and a celebration of 25 years of the People's Health Movement on Day 1 and paid tribute to the founders of PHM.

The sessions were complemented by group work and discussions where they presented multiple actions and strategies on the ongoing health problems in the country. In the concluding session, the participants reflected on their experiences of the course and committed their active participation in PHM at the country, regional, and global levels.
