Long time PHM activist Shireen Huq is to lead Bangladesh’s Women's Affairs Commission
Bangladesh's interim government has formed four new reform commissions, including one focused on women's affairs. At the People’s Health Movement we are thrilled to learn that Shireen Huq, a renowned feminist activist and founding member of Naripokkho and long term PHM activist , has been appointed to lead this important commission. This appointment marks a significant milestone for Bangladesh's feminist and people’s health movement, recognizing Huq's dedication and expertise in advancing women's rights.
Shireen is also the widow of one of the founding fathers of PHM Zafrullah Chowdhury who died last year.
