In 2025, Kandy, Sri Lanka hosted the third Nyaleni Global Forum. Small scale food producers, indigenous peoples, feminist, health workers, climate justice activists, social and solidarity economic defenders, and other grassroots activists will come from more than 80 countries to radically change the system. In the face of a violent global system, we are rising up resisting and building power from the bottom up. This forum is a spark in our collective struggle.
From 6 to 13 September 2025, over 700 delegates from more than 100 countries gathered in Kandy, Sri Lanka for the 3rd Nyéléni Global Forum for Food Sovereignty. Peasants, Indigenous Peoples, pastoralists, fishers, feminist movements, youth, workers, and activists united across continents to renew the global struggle for justice, dignity, and life – giving birth to the Kandy Declaration.\
