El optimista infatigable (1941-2023)
El Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury falleció en la mañana del 11 de abril de 2023. Con él, el mundo ha perdido a uno de los principales defensores de los derechos de los pueblos a la salud y a la atención primaria en salud que jamás haya conocido. Desde que era estudiante de medicina a principios de los años 60 hasta sus últimos días, trabajó incansablemente por extender la salud y la atención sanitaria a la población y por defender la causa de los derechos de salud de los pobres y los más marginados.

Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury passed away in the morning of 11 April, 2023. With that the world lost one of the foremost champions of peoples health rights and primary healthcare that the world has ever known. From when he was a medical student in the early 60s to his final days, he worked tirelessly for extending health and health care to the people and for championing the cause of health rights of the poor and the most marginalized.

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing away of our dear comrade Dr. Amit Sengupta, a beloved colleague, friend, mentor and activist. Amit passed away on 28 November 2018, in a swimming accident in Goa, India.

Amit was a founding member of PHM at its creation in 2000 in Savar, Bangladesh.

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing away of our comrade Prof. David Sanders, a beloved colleague, friend, mentor and activist. David passed away on 30th August after a heart attack. He was a founding member of People’s Health Movement (PHM) in 2000 in Savar, Bangladesh and has been the co-chair of PHM from past six years.
