East Asia and Pacific region of PHM invites interest for IPHU course & Regional Health Assembly for health activists
The East and Asia Pacific (EAP) region of the People’s Health Movement has been working with the Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education to organise two events to be held at Batchelor College, Northern Territory, Australia in October 2025:
International People’s Health University (IPHU) course for health activists on "The Political Economy of Colonialism and Health" from 5th -11th October. '25
Regional People’s Health Assembly to mark 25 years of PHM on "The Struggle For Health: Political Economy Of 21st Century Colonialism" from 12th- 15th October, '25
Both events will offer a chance to look at the political roots of ill health in Australia and the political underpinnings of the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health movement.
We are seeking expressions of interest at this stage. Please note that the EAP region includes countries from Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Cambodia, China, Korea, Japan, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Fiji, New Zealand, Australia. The East and Asia Pacific (EAP) region of PHM is different from the South Asia region of PHM.
