La solidarité est le langage des peuples : Nous avons atteint l'objectif de dons pour l'hôpital de campagne d'Al Awda dans le centre de Gaza

Thank you! Hundreds of people, anonymous donors from around the world, with donations starting at $5 Dollars, managed to reach the goal of $90,000 Dollars for the humanitarian support of medical supplies for the Al Awda field hospital in the city of Al Nuseirat in Central Gaza.

Back in October 2024, we had reported that the hospital was fully operational, bringing relief to the victims of the war with emergency medical care in the midst of the conflict and an extreme humanitarian crisis.

“We have started to run the emergency, outpatient and wound care services inside the field hospital,” said an official at the Al Awda Field Hospital in Al Nuseirat, Central Gaza, back in October.

The operation of the field hospital has been possible thanks to the persistence of the Al Awda emergency humanitarian care team and the construction, equipment and maintenance obtained with the support of donations from all over the world.

Following the Israeli invasions in the north (Jabalya) and then in the south (Rafah), central Gaza has been flooded with displaced people. Before the war, the population in central Gaza was estimated at 320,000; today around 940,000 people have sought refuge there. This has led to a situation where the AWDA hospital in Al Nuseirat, central Gaza, is working at 400% of its capacity. In response to this, the dedicated staff at AWDA decided to build a field hospital capable of relieving the pressure, with the capacity to provide healthcare services to around 15,000 patients per month. The field hospital covers an area of 1320 m2 and includes an emergency department with a capacity for 23 beds, an outpatient department to expand obstetrics and gynecology services, and an inpatient department that will increase capacity to 110 beds.

The development of the hospital's construction, equipment and operation project took six months, starting on July 15, 2024, with operations starting in October 2024 and the construction, equipment and expansion of services completed on January 15, 2025. The total cost of the hospital is estimated at 1.5 million dollars, including construction work, equipment and medical supplies, as well as the guarantee of the sustainability of the hospital's operation.

Donations collected by the PHM will be used to support medical supplies and emergency humanitarian assistance. The PHM thanks each and every donor who made their contributions anonymously for this cause. The donation link will remain active so that you can donate and help the Al Awda team to continue their work.
