Webinar: Developing a collective PHM position before the UN Biodiversity COP16 '24

The Conference on Biodiversity -COP16- is scheduled to take place on October 21st - Nov 1st 2024 in Cali - Colombia. This event will involve many governments, social organizations and movements, private and public institutions, and academics (See here: https://www.cbd.int/conferences/2024).

PHM has been invited to participate in the event through the World Social Forum of Transformative Economies. We are hoping to join along with the Colombian PHM country circle and ENLAZADOS (the regional Alliance of MAELA -the Latin American Agroecological Movement), the Movement of Social and Solidarity Economies, and the MSPLA -the PHM Latin American Coordination. The Colombian PHM country Circle and ENLAZADOS have been organizing and have proposed two main activities around this conference: 1) a face-to-face workshop on how extractivism destroys biodiversity and damages health called "Circle of the Word, Body/territory and Health"; and 2) a virtual global webinar about the same issues.

The objective of the virtual global webinar will be to prepare for the physical workshop. Through the webinar, we hope to develop PHM's critical position and a collective analysis for COP16.
