Public Meeting at Observatory, Cape Town.  Saturday, 14 March 202 The People’s Health Movement, South Africa (PHM) sensed that it was urgent for members of the broader community to share experiences and concerns relating to the COVID19 pandemic before public meetings and transport became impossible due to viral spread and had organised a meeting. In the meeting, it was felt that The COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic will have its major impact on working class people in crowded periurban settlements where public health measures to slow it down and “flatten the curve” are difficult to practice, and where the public health system is already unable to cope effectively with the existing disease burden.
