With Covid-19, data and digitalization have become important in national and international public health discussions. Unfortunately, the discourse has been taken over by a corporate interests and approach. It is pertinent to have a civil society approach shaping discussions and decisions on digital health – one oriented towards ensuring public ownership of data, and its use for building stronger health systems.
