PHM attended the World Association of Breastfeeding Action (WABA) Partners meeting in Penang September 25-27. The main theme was to coordinate renewed efforts to get more states ratifying the ILO Convention C183  Maternity Protection Convention of the year 2000 which has only received some 40 ratifications worldwide. Our SC member Claudio Schuftan participated on a panel on how PHM, working together with WABA, can accelerate the process. Participants came from all over the world and demonstrated their well known passion and commitment to protect and promote breastfeeding. PHM has had a close relationship with WABA for years and this participation strengthened it further. Breastfeeding is indeed one of the PHM priorities in its work on PHC and the right to health.
