Participate in The People's Health Assembly - December 2000
Participate
The Peoples Health Assembly is a long-term process, which
seeks to involve a large number of people in formulating their own health agenda with health
for all as important goal for everyone to strive towards. The PHA process is
shaped by three overlapping and interlinked phases:
-
Pre-Assembly
Activities
-
The
Assembly Events
-
Post-Assembly
Activities
-
Online
Dialogue
Pre-assembly
activities are ways that people can actively participate and input into a
peoples agenda for health. You can participate by:
-
organising
local/country/regional meetings
-
facilitating
the collection of stories and case studies
-
contributing
to the analytical and formulation of the Peoples Charter for Health
The assembly
event will be held from 4-8 December 2000 in Savar, Bangladesh hosted by Gonoshasthaya
Kendra with approximately 600 participants from all over the world. A health train from
the southern tip of India to Dhaka will be organised prior to the actual assembly.
Directly following the assembly, a special forum will be
organised for those who want to deepen their understanding of the issues and enhance their
skills.
Post-assembly
activities will include the dissemination, promotion and wider endorsement of the
Peoples Charter for Health, coordinated advocacy and lobbying at the local, national
and international levels, enhanced networking among participating individuals and
organisations and publication of materials related to the PHA.
If you are unable to participate either in the pre-assembly
activities nor the assembly event, get involved in the PHA process by joining in the
PHA online dialogue from where you are.
