| Workshops Workshops will be held in the afternoons from 14:30 to 17:30 with a half hour break. Workshops should also include testimonies, presentations, possibly some group work and final roundup of the debate.Ideally the workshops should be limited to 60 persons. Some sessions may be larger, but that is not recommended. Larger groups will not permit adequate discussion. It will be necessary for the delegates to PHA2 to sign up for the workshops, to avoid difficulties related to overcrowding, and to be able to assign the interpreters and translators to the concurrent sessions.Testimonies: Definition of testimony: a brief account of a specific experience of affected lower/middle class sectors that reflects the destructive impact of a particular action or social/political situation, as well as ways to confront and resist said action or situation.
Definition of panel expositions: brief speeches (20 minutes) whose subjects will be the investigation or systematic organization of experiences and reflections on the subtopic assigned to that particular panel. The selected panellists should present a written position of 8-10 pages (Word, Times New Roman, 12) by May 15th, in Spanish or English. Please send these documents to pha2@phmovement.org Power point presentations are acceptable. We need the materials early in order to make the necessary translations. Eventually these will be uploaded to the authorized web site of the assembly. It is generally proposed that the panels include experts who are persons from the continents and places where the problem being addressed is of most relevance, attempting throughout the four days to achieve an equal inclusion of different places of origin. These sessions will be held in the mornings, with the exception of one plenary on Thursday afternoon.
Participants at the plenary sessions will be provided with professional simultaneous interpretation in Spanish and English. Arrangements will be made for other languages, such as Portuguese and French, depending on the requirements. Plenary presidents are persons from countries other than Ecuador. Secretaries will be Ecuadoreans. |
